Negev : Step into the desert in Europe

Israel, officially the State of Israel, is a country in Western Asia. It is situated on the southeastern shore of the Mediterranean Sea and the northern shore of the Red Sea, and shares borders with Lebanon to the north, Syria to the northeast, Jordan to the east, and Egypt to the southwest; it is also bordered by the Palestinian territories of the West Bank and the Gaza Strip to the east and west, respectively. Tel Aviv is the economic and technological center of the country, while its seat of government is in its proclaimed capital of Jerusalem, although international recognition of Israeli sovereignty over the city is limited.

Israel is surrounded by desert. The dry land has become a promotional tool for their tourism with the motto 'a step into the desert in Europe'. The desert area in the Negev has become a tourist destination that has been promoted by the Israeli government recently.

There are plenty of nature activities for the Negev to do, from biking to rock climbing. Ramon Cliffs can also be visited. This natural tourist attraction has a fascinating history and shape, similar to the Grand Canyon in the United States which has often been reviewed in various tourist sites.

The Negev does offer a rustic feel. But there is also a feeling of luxury that tourists can feel through glamping (Glamorous Camping). In a special area, tourists will spend the night in tents with facilities and services like a five-star hotel. Hot showers and meals prepared by a personal chef are some of the services offered.

The Negev is a two-hour drive from Tel Aviv International Airport. You can go to Negev via land transportation. The cost required depends on the reader, whether you want to stay at a hotel or do Glamping activities which will certainly increase your budget or will only stay with a homemade tent. In addition, several countries do not have embassies in Israel and do not have direct flights to Israel, therefore an additional budget is required to change planes several times before arriving in Israel. Items that must be brought are a portable fan and of course a tent if you want to enjoy camping in the Negev.

What you must do apart from walking around the desert is that you can hike the 12-kilometer Negev Highland Trail. In addition, you can see a clear starry night sky if you stay at a camp or make a tent in this desert area. Therefore, Asian Destination Readers should visit in the afternoon and evening so that they can see the sunset like a desert-themed film and see the beauty of the night.

Still around the Negev area, Asian Destination Readers can also stop by the wineries managed by local people. The plantation has been passed down from generation to generation since 2,000 years ago. The garden produce is processed by the wine company Carmey Avdat, which produces 5,000 bottles of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Chardonnay wines per year. As a companion to wine, local people also produce cheese from milk. the goats they raise next to the plantation.
