Sorae Ecology Park

Sorae Ecology Park is located near Incheon, a city on the outskirts of Seoul, South Korea's capital. 77, Sorae Ecology Park, Namdong-gu, Incheon, Sorae-ro 154beon-gil Sorae Ecology Park was once a salt manufacturing facility. Then, by retaining its original form, a muddy beach, it transformed into an ecological park. During Japan's colonial period, the salt field was developed. In 2009, this land was transformed into an environmental park, which opened to the public.

The salt plain, mud flat, and marsh in this park serve as a habitat for migratory birds and a home for many living species. It allows for the viewing of a variety of marine organisms in the marsh. It also features an exhibition area where you may learn about the facilities where salt was once made. Visitors will be able totrail on the wetland to see reed field and 3 windmills. Sorae Ecology Park is not far from Sorae Port and Fish Market.

Although widely known for its windmills, the area of ​​Sorae Ecology Park is actually very large. There are also amenities such as a foot pool and a small exhibition area. The best season to visit is when the weeds are brown. In summer (around May-September), the atmosphere is dominated by green.

Sorae Ecology Park is located in Namgu-Incheon and can be reached by subway via the Incheon line Suin (yellow color) which is connected to the Seoul subway line 1 or line 4.

The nearest station is Soraepogu and it takes about 15 minutes on foot to get to the entrance of Sorae Ecology Park. It's actually quite easy to find the place because there is a marking gate. Unfortunately, this marker is only written in Korean.

Given the super large area, walking is not recommended. There is bicycle rental at the entrance area at a rate of 5000 won per hour for regular bicycles and 10000 won per hour for tandem bicycles.

Then don't be confused about how to get into the windmill area. Just follow the main road, leading to the windmill visible from a distance. There is a small door that only pedestrians can pass through to get to the area. Bikes can be left at the door. There is no need to be afraid of being lost, because Korea is very safe.

Sorae Ecology Park's opening hours are 10:00-18:00 and closed every Monday. No entry ticket. The best time to visit is on weekdays before sunset for the best photos and a quiet atmosphere.
