The Lok Baintan Floating Market, also
known as the Martapura River Floating Market, is a traditional floating market
village in Banjar, South Kalimantan, Indonesia. It is located in River Pinang
village (Lok Baintan), River Tabuk sub-district. The Floating Market near the
mouth of the Kuin River / Barito River is similar to the Floating Market at Lok
Baintan. Both of them are traditional marketplaces above jukung that sell a
range of items, such as agricultural / plantation results, and are only open
for three to four hours. Since the time of the Banjar Sultanate, there has been
a floating market.
Around 1595, the Sultanate of Banjarmasin
was established, and this was also the start of the contemporary floating
market in Banjarmasin. The floating market is part of a port on the Bandarmasih
River. River kuin, river baritone, and river kelayan in south Banjarmasin are
covered by the river port. However, there are many native Banjarmasin who claim
that the floating market existed before the formation of the kingdom of Banjar.
The presence of a floating market contributes to the local economy's growth.
Aside from its original function as a
place to trade and buy fresh ingredients, the floating market has become iconic
in the city of Banjar, attracting many domestic and international visitors. If
the red line drawn present region made place for floating market is Medan
battle between kingdom banjar and kingdom of the country of Daha, which is only
triggered quarrel problem family.
The provincial administration of
Kaliamantan South has previously designated the floating market as a water
tourism attraction; however, there are still two floating market locations in
lok baintan, namely in the estuary kuin and in front of the great mosque or
siring tendean. Three locations have become popular tourist destinations.
Along the coast of the Martapura River,
Lokbaintan has witnessed a convoy boat heading to a floating market. This boat
is owned by traders and farmers who will use it to advertise the outcomes of
their gardens. They came from the Martapura River's tributaries, including the
Lenge River, the Daffodil River, the Paku River, the Alam Saka Bunut River, the
Madang River, the Tanifah River, and the Lok Baintan River.
There are two ways to get reach the Lok
Baintan floating market from the city center. First, take a walk down the River
Martapura using a klotok, a form of motorized canoe. Traveling from the center
city to the floating market with klotok was quick because it just took 30
minutes. The second option is to utilize a vehicle on land, such as a car.
However, the second option requires more time, namely one hour to reach the
floating market. Medan's inclined trek became heavy and convoluted as a result
of that.
Trading began at 6:00 a.m. and ended at
9:30 a.m. WITA. With his closed head, the merchant commanded the woman
(tanggui). They sell a variety of items, including vegetables, fruits,
traditional desserts, and so forth. In the floating market, the barter system
is still in use, and money is not a key tool for transaction.
Generally, the stuff that will be bartered
is produced on Earth and takes the form of vegetables and fruits. Total barter
results are determined by the size and balance of the two split parties. If
they agree, each will receive products in accordance with their wishes and
above what is required for private use at home.
