The province of Arkhangai is known
for its numerous ancient volcanoes. The numerous water springs and natural hot
water that flow from an elevation of 1860 meters (1.16 mile) above sea level
are a particular feature of these volcanoes and the tectonic activity that
surrounds them. Tsenkher Soum is home to Mongolia's most famous hot spring,
Tsenkher natural hot spring. This natural wonder is located 27 kilometers south
of Tsetserleg, the provincial capital of Arkhangai. The hot spring is nestled
amid wooded hills and magnificent mountains, surrounded by cliffs and swift
rivers. The water from this geological wonder is 85.5°C (185.9°F) when it
emerges from the ground. The Tsenkher hot spring is reported to have healing
properties that aid in the treatment of articular and nervous system ailments.
Hydrogen sulfide, sodium carbonate, hydro carbonate, sulfate, and fluorite make
up the spring. Visitors can rest in naturally heated water pools that are
elegantly placed in a green mountain valley at the Tsenkher hot springs. Indoor
and outdoor baths are available at this wellness spa.
Tsenkher's hot springs, nestled
amongst forested hills, are a popular detour from the main route. You'll be
disappointed if you want to relax in pristine, natural surroundings, as the hot
water is pumped into splash pools at the ger resorts erected around the
springs. It costs roughly US$10 to enter for non-guests.
Asian Destinations Readers can go to
Tsenkher Hot Spa from Tsetserleg, you can travel 27 kilometers south on a jeep
trail. Taxis from Tsetserleg cost approximately T45,000 return. You could also
go on a bike ride. Tsenkher sum is the turn-off if you're coming from
Ulaanbaatar. The hot springs are 24 kilometers from the sum center.
There are many historical volcanoes
in Arkhangai, which explains the presence of this hot water source in the total
of Tsenkher, which flows all year at 1860 meters (1,16 mile) above sea level.
The temperature of the water is 85,5°C (185,9°F).
Some yurts camps with equipment and
baths with a less hot temperature have been set up in a lovely lush woodland
region for the visitors, but also for the nomads and residents of Ulan Bator
who are quite fond of these baths. Tsenkher hot springs have medicinal
qualities, particularly for arthritic and nervous system illnesses. Sodium
carbonate, hydrocarbonate, sulfate, fluorite, and hydrogen sulfide make up the
composition.
